Project Dates | Flexible; must be completed between mid-June and mid-August.
Participants may set their own daytime schedule; must be during regular office hours. |

Parking |
Paid parking is available in private lots. Parking expenses are not reimbursed. |
DAS will review resumes and invite selected candidates for interviews. Candidates who are chosen for the Senior Hunger Team will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
Gain valuable project experience, access to professional networks, and insight into the daily work of aging services practitioners. Those who complete the project satisfactorily will receive a certificate of completion and letter of reference from the DHS Division of Aging Services.
Sample Senior Hunger Team Projects:
- Update content in the State Plan to Address Senior Hunger.
- Help to create a statewide toolkit to address senior hunger.
- Review state policies that potentially help or harm efforts to address senior hunger. Identify other states with similar policies as points of comparison.
- Assist with the formation of an interagency policy review council.
- Find grants related to senior hunger and help with the application process.
- Create a newsletter and updates on the senior hunger initiative. Help manage the senior hunger listserv.
- Identify additional data collection tools to measure the status of changes related to senior hunger.
- Identify education and training needed in the five topic areas of the State Plan to Address Senior Hunger:
- Today’s Seniors
- Meeting the Needs of the Community
- Food Access
- Food Waste and reclamation
- Health Impact of Senior Hunger
