Georgia's Respite Care Study
The Georgia Department of Human Services’ Division of Aging Services (DAS) partnered with the University of North Georgia (UNG) Institute for Healthy Aging to conduct the Georgia Respite Care Study in State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2025 and SFY 2026. The purpose of the study was to describe and evaluate the overall landscape of caregiver respite services and caregiver services policy in Georgia and other Southeastern states.
This work is grounded in the analysis of caregiving data shared with UNG by DAS, as well as interviews with family caregivers, a comprehensive review of state and federal resources, and a synthesis of best practices research.
